Duration: 6 Weeks

Brief:   To create a Contemporary Themed guest bedroom.

As this room was a guest room of occasional use – I wanted to give it a ‘hotel room’ feel keeping it quite formal but inviting using crisp lines with an exciting colour scheme.

The furniture – bed, bedsides, chest and shutters are in walnut which is a warm wood.

The textured wallpaper which I used as a feature wall behind the headboard is of dark mushroom colour with a creased effect and silvered disorientated stripe which really compliments the walnut.

The throws, cushions, lampshades and artwork are in gold’s, silvers, stone and blacks – used to add a splash of colour to the room and soften the lines – also adding an element of romance.

The occasional chair along with the oversized floor standing lamp are in solid black which highlights the colours in the throws and cushions and brings the colours to life.
